Also visit Haldighati-the land of bravery, sacrifice and great history. Haldighati plays an important role in the Indian History. The Battle of Haldighati was fought on 18 June 1576 between the Kingdom of Mewar and the Mughal Army led by king Mansingh. Maharana Pratap led the armed forces of Mewar against the Mughals. The Battle of Haldighati was actually for the Rajputana honour. Many powerful kings of Rajasthan, including those of Jaipur, Bikaner and Boondi, were with Akbar. Rana Pratap had already alienated them by taunting how they had given their daughters and sisters to Akbar to barter peace. Enjoy a boat-ride in Lake Pichola visiting many Ghats (banks) of washing, bathing etc. and enjoy excellent views of the Lake Palace and City Palace. Later visit Maharana Pratap Memorial-the legendary warrior king of Udaipur. The Memorial is built to honor his courage and valor and a life-sized bronze statue of Maharana Pratap is made along with his loyal horse, Chetak. Visit Jagdish Temple built in 1651 AD & Saheliyon Ki Bari, a small ornamental garden. Also visit Jagmandir-an exquisite palace that looks like a floating marble structure in a lake.
